Shop Supervisor
Location : Spring Lake, MI
PURPOSE OF JOB:
This position will manage production personnel. Sustain a safe and clean working environment. Plan and coordinate personnel, tool and material requirements. Identify and communicate quality issues.
JOB DUTIES AND
Responsibilities: (performs some or all of the following)
Update manufacturing Gantt charts and direct production employees to the proper workstations to achieve on time run-off and deliveries of machines.
Lead and direct all production employees to work as efficiently, accurately and safely as possible. Identify and supply the people and tools required to achieve this and to promote continuous improvement in all of these areas.
Identify and communicate machine build deficiencies to the proper employees.
Lead and direct production employees to keep the shop and machines clean and orderly.
Work with shipping and receiving to plan the proper timing of parts pulls early enough to identify and notify purchasing and vendors of any late deliveries that could cause a shut down of production.
Work with shipping and receiving, purchasing, Engineering or quality to identify the source and correct any incorrect parts due to incorrect manufacture or design.
Work with Production Planning Manager and the training matrix to maintain employee levels that efficiently meet machine build schedules.
Manage all new machine installations.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proven ability to manage projects to a schedule.
Knowledge of inventory management systems.
Ability to read blueprints, and work closely with Engineering.
Strong analytical, good verbal & written communication skills.
Sound decision making skills and problem solving skills.
Professional experience with MS Office.
Organized and has ability to work in a team environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Associates degree in business or manufacturing preferred.

years in a manufacturing environment, preferably the machine tool industry preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
